Reviews 2009 - Tractors - Villarbasse (TO) - Italy

We visited Trattoria ITALY of Villarbasse (Torino).
This, despite being a bit 'out of the way, is easily accessible from London, from Rivoli (it passes in front of the new hospital, and from there straight on ..) and in a quarter of an hour you can get downtown, the Town Hall Square.

The village is nestled in the hills surrounding moraine streams, and the view, on clear days is superb.

The entrance to the premises can be found immediately, just parked in the square, and you enter a bar area, where to stay on hold other diners. The atmosphere is warm, quiet and comfortable.

You will be accompanied in the dining room (maybe the one near the kitchen) and soon you'll be entertained by Chef Roberto
CASTALDELLI that his sympathy and discretion, we will present the proposals of the evening.

strong point is that we tried the tasting menu. It is composed of:

a plate of mixed hot and cold appetizers 4 (deliziosi!) including peppers, onions, toasted of tropical and zucchini flan;
tastes "of the first two, the gnocchi pasta with zucchini and seafood ravioli with fresh tomato;
the legendary" robiola of dawn in foil, accompanied by tasty red onions ( but the pairings were accompanying several!)
You could also taste a stew, but we have avoided.
Finally ... a trio of delicate cakes ...

Winery is well supplied, and the chef personally selects the labels proposes that, with careful research of lesser-known companies even today ... good quality ...

accompaganare We opted for dinner, for a Bonarda the house (good), but in steps "strong" (robiloa ed.) Roberto came to meet us supporting us with a good glass of Barbera by the glass, even ripetutoi with Moscow for the match to dessert.


IN CONCLUSION: local optimum, What more! Knowing that then you get up from the table with 30 Euro per person ... We can say that the room has an excellent quality / price ratio ....

Questa sera si riprende la Radio ...finalmente!!! e da questa puntata Cocina Clandestina inizia una collaborazione con Slow Food Piemonte e Valle D'Aosta,ogni giovedi ospiti in diretta e collegamenti telefonici per parlare delle iniziative locali e non......si inzia con Bruno Boveri inoltre un Grande Pioniere della Radio "Libera"......e si racconterà di Ragionar di Gusto

Inizia giovedì 29 gennaio la seconda edizione di Ragionar di Gusto, la rassegna organizzata da Slow Food Piemonte e Valle d'Aosta, Extratorino e Città di Torino in collaborazione con Eataly e Michele Chiarlo.
Semplice l'idea: invitare un ospite eccellente del mondo della cultura e dello spettacolo, chiacchierare di cibo e – per ultimo ma non ultimo – sedersi a tavola assieme.

Ogni appuntamento è diviso in tre parti:
1. alle 18.30 in Punt e Mes Eataly room in the guest and met the public is ill-treated by Brown Boveri of Slow Food and Luca Iaccarino of ExtraTorino
2. A toast to 19.30 with the wines of Michele Chiarlo
